Colette Dessingue, Choreography / Dance / Aerial

Colette Dessingue, Choreographer, is co-founder and Director of Jamila Lotus.


Colette has a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography from ASU with additional studies in UNC Charlotte’s dance program; she has been privileged to perform the work of such eminent choreographers as Nora Chipaumire,

Pablo Cornejo, and Luc Vanier.

 

Colette was co-founder of North Carolina dance ensemble Raks Noir,

a member of the former Dance Arizona Repertory Theatre,

and has performed in the Phoenix area with such groups as Conder Dance,

Temenos Dance Collective, and Boom Boom Bollywood,

with whom she toured internationally.  


Colette has appeared with Portico Dance Company (WA), and had the honor of participating in Buglisi Dance Theater's Table of Silence Project, a 9/11 tribute at Lincoln Center, on September 11, 2012.   

Colette performed for several years as an aerialist and trapeze artist with  

Circus Stella. 

She is also featured as a stand-up comedian on

the Almost Homeless Comedy Tour!
